5 tips on how to prepare your home for professional looking photographs.

1. Remove Clutter - lets get to the point , we see timeless memories - everyone else sees clutter. Most things we love to look at on a daily basis are items that make us remember a moment. Clean off the front of the refrigerator, empty and put away the junk basket, hide the laundry hampers.

2. Clean clean clean - Yes dirt shows up in photographs.

3. Remove furniture - I know it sounds crazy but less furniture makes spaces seam larger. If you have 6 chairs at a table remove two , anything that you can do to open up a room.

4.Light - Clean your windows inside and out to allow extra ambient light in and make sure all your lights are working, Go around the house and replace all those burned out bulbs. Sometimes small spaces are hard to photograph and a little extra help from available light can take an image from OK to wow !

5. Remove Personal Items and Valuables - I cant say this enough, store anything that is valuable . Most people that come through your home are honest people and your valuables are most likely safe. With that said when we drive a car we still put on our seat-belts. Remove anything of solid vale out of eyesight we don't want to post an image of your house and advertise that you have a priceless painting. Also personal items when your space is photographed your house images will be posted on the internet , people will share them with friends you don't need some person thinking they are funny and turning your wedding photograph and turning it into a meme. Your intention is to move so get a jump start on your packing and tuck those items away.
